The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has compiled information on the Ebola virus infection on its website rki.de and keeps it up to date. The transmission path observed has so far been limited to direct physical contact with a person who has suffered from Ebola or who has died or contact with their body fluids. So far there is no evidence of transmission through breath. Due to the strong demand, DACH Schutzbekleidung GmbH & Co. KG has developed three different Ebola protection sets based on information from the RKI, which are tailored to the differing needs when dealing with sick people. These situations are (in the following the word patient can also stand for suspected illness):
A minimum distance of 1.20 m from the patient is maintained, but a potentially contaminated area is entered. Splashing blood, secretions or excrement is not to be expected.
The minimum distance of 1.20 m to the patient is not reached, but the patient is not treated directly. The protective measures serve to protect against contact and splashing of blood, secretions or excrement is not to be expected.

Notes related to choosing protective clothing and on putting on and taking off
It is up to the user to carefully check whether the products meet the requirements of the working environment. There are no legal regulations or guidelines for the proper putting on and taking off of protective clothing. Taking off contaminated clothing, in particular, requires special care and practice in order to avoid contaminating the hands and the clothing worn underneath. Contamination of the environment must also be avoided. The following descriptions are only to be regarded as suggestions, to be examined critically and possibly adapted to the situation and the type of hazard.
The following principles should be followed:
Practice dressing and undressing before use
Always wear two pairs of gloves on top of each other to avoid the transfer of infectious agents when undressing.
When taking off the outer gloves, either turn them inside out or just touch the inside.
Always turn protective clothing inside out when undressing to avoid contact with the outside.
Dispose of all used parts properly.
We recommend the following procedure when creating protection sets II & III:
Ask another person to help
Take off your shoes and put your trousers in socks if possible
Put on inner gloves
Put on overall, close zip, pull sleeves over glove shaft
Put on shoes, put on shoe covers
IIf necessary, loosely glue the boot protector and trouser leg so that both can be removed together when taking off

Put on outer gloves, making sure to pull the shaft over the sleeves
Loosely glue sleeves and outer glove so that both can be removed together when taking them off
If necessary stick the zip and the overlap of the individual parts
Check the integrity, fit and freedom of movement of clothing
We recommend the following procedure when taking off protection sets II & III:
Get another person in suitable protective clothing to help
Take off the hood, turning it inside out
Open the zip
