DIN EN 14605:2005+A1:2009: Protective clothing against liquid chemicals - Performance requirements for chemical protective coveralls with liquid-proof (type 3) or spray-proof (type 4) connections between parts of the garment, including garments providing protection to parts of the body only (types PB [3] and PB [4])
Scope of application
This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the following chemical protective clothing and corresponding partial body protection:
- Type 3: fliquid-tight clothing
- Type 4: spray-proof clothing
Performance requirements for material
Materials for chemical protective clothing shall be tested according to the following requirements and in accordance with the test methods specified in EN 14325. Performance level 1 shall be achieved for all requirements.

Performance requirement for seams, joints and trusses
Seams, joints and trusses shall be tested and classified in accordance with the requirements of the following table and the relevant clauses of EN 14325.

Requirement for the whole coverall
- Chemical protective clothing must meet the requirements of EN 340 (general for protective clothing),
- Resistance to penetration by liquids:
- Type 3 chemical protective clothing must be tested against penetration of liquids with a jet test by test persons.
- Type 4 chemical protective clothing must be tested against penetration of liquids with a spray test by test persons.
Labelling
- The name, trademark identifying the manufacturer.
- The manufacturer's type number or model number.
- Class of protection: Type 3 or Type 4
- The number of this European Standard.
- Size according to EN 340.
- A manufacturer's information leaflet must be supplied with each smallest commercial package.
- Pictogram indicating that the clothing is intended for protection against chemicals and pictogram indicating that the instructions for use and any further information provided by the manufacturer must be read
