Before using protective coveralls, the intended use, the hazardous substances used and the duration of work should always be checked.
The PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 for personal protective equipment offers important help. This defines three hazard categories according to areas of use:
- Category 1
Simple protective equipment for low hazards. - Category 2
Protective equipment for defence against hazards that do not comply with category 1 or 3. - Category 3
Complex protective equipment for high risks to protect against lethal hazards or serious irreversible damage to health. Within category 3, protective classes have been defined to help the user choose the appropriate protective coverall for the specific application:
.TYPE 3 - Liquid-proof protective clothing
TYPE 4 - Spray-tight protective clothing
TYPE 5 - Particle protection
TYPE 6 - Protection against liquid chemicals

The selection guide is intended as an aid only. It is the user's responsibility to check exactly whether a protective coverall meets the requirements regarding hazardous substances and their concentration in the specific application. DACH Schutzbekleidung does not accept any obligations or liabilities in connection with this selection guide.
