Disposable nitrile gloves with an extra-long cuff for enhanced protection of the wrist and forearm. Their high chemical resistance and excellent tactile sensitivity make them ideal for demanding applications in laboratories, healthcare, and industry.
The GentleSafe® Nitrile Extra REF 873 was designed for users who want to combine extended coverage with high comfort and excellent dexterity. The extra-long cuff provides additional protection for the wrist and parts of the forearm, making it particularly suitable for tasks involving frequent contact with chemicals or biological hazards.
These powder-free and liquid-resistant disposable gloves are made of 100% nitrile and are classified as both Category III PPE and a Class I medical device. The textured fingertips provide improved grip and allow for safe handling even when working with damp or wet objects. With dexterity rated at the highest level 5 according to EN 420, the gloves offer excellent tactile sensitivity combined with high wearing comfort. The extra-long design, with a total length of 300 mm, extends the area of protection compared to standard examination gloves. The glove meets the requirements of EN ISO 374-1 Type C and provides protection against chemicals, viruses, bacteria, and fungi in accordance with EN ISO 374-5. Against 40% sodium hydroxide and 37% formaldehyde, it achieves protection level 6 in each case with permeation breakthrough times exceeding 480 minutes. Resistance to various cytostatic agents was tested according to ASTM D6978-05; for active ingredients such as cisplatin, cyclophosphamide, dacarbazine, doxorubicin, etoposide, fluorouracil, and paclitaxel, no breakthrough was detected within 240 minutes. With a tear strength of 8.5 N and a tear strength after stress testing of 7.8 N, the glove offers high mechanical strength. The finger thickness of 0.15 mm ensures a balanced combination of protection and tactile sensitivity. Additionally, the glove is suitable for food contact and free of natural latex, carbamates, thiurams, and thiazoles.
