DACH: How would you describe the importance of this partnership for your company and what core competences of DACH were crucial for your decision to work together?
sMed: The partnership with DACH played a significant role in the immediate success of sMed Global in Cyprus, even though we had tried numerous times to collaborate with DACH success occurred in January of 2021 with our first awarded tender for masks with ties for the needs of the MoH. Once we had managed to penetrate the Cyprus market there was a need due to COVID for a high quality face masks with ties.
The success for us was to supply the Cypriot authorities with 10.000.000 face masks with loops (2108) via an open tender procedure where another 4 bids had been submitted, all other offers where disqualified and the only mask within specifications was sMed’s offer. This was a milestone for both DACH and sMed Global.
DACH: How do you plan to integrate DACH's protection products into your existing offering and how does this support your strategic objectives?
sMed: We are currently proactively working on FFP2 and FFP3 masks that will be published by the end of the year integrating the high specifications and test results of Neolution®Air Loop product range to give us a competitive advantage. We are also looking into the complete PPE product range for new needs.
DACH: What are your goals and expectations for the future development of this partnership, and are there plans for the joint development of new products or services?
sMed: Our goal is to make DACH a consistent supplier of the Cyprus market both public and private sector. We plan to increase the product portfolio in Cyprus of the PPE product range and are also looking into the industrial solutions available in the product portfolio. DACH is now recognised by the Cyprus authorities as a top level excellent quality and trustworthy supplier of medical disposables in our market and we will continue this success together.
